Environmental Responsibility
Timber we use for our windows and doors come from well managed, sustainable forests and are specially selected for their high quality and fine grain. They bring natural beauty, energy efficiency, warmth and long durability into your home.
We use pine as softwood and oak as 1st class hardwood. They come from Polish National Forests.
Logging in Polish National Forests takes place in accordance with international principles: preserving the sustainability of forests, sustainable development and conservation. This is confirmed by the regional directorates being awarded with FSC and other certificates.
About FSC
FSC is an abbreviation of the Forest Stewardship Council founded in 1993 in Mexico. Its goal is to popularize the method of forest management on the basis of taking into account not only economic aspects but also social and natural ones. The condition for obtaining a certificate is to carry out forest management in compliance with all regulations of the country and international treaties and agreements to which the country is a signatory. Compliance with the principles and criteria of FSC is also mandatory for granting a certificate.
Seeing the FSC logo allows the customer to choose products from certified forests, and thereby contribute to environmental protection. If the environmental issues are not indifferent to you, you should pay attention when choosing the product. Going for our timber windows and doors means that you care deeply for the forests and the world we live in.
We use meranti (Shorea) - 2nd class hardwood which comes from South-East Asia.
Not many windows & doors suppliers in UK can pride themselves on having this timber certified to prove that it comes from sustainable sources as many species of Shorea are under threat of extinction. We are proud to announce that we do have the FSC certificate. We have carefully chosen the meranti merchant so our business does not harm the environment and we make sure we do not buy from unethical sources.
